
Insurance fraud on the decline in Kenya
Kenya’s Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) reported 91 cases of fraud in 2018, decreasing by 60.15% in one year. The total cost of these offences is estimated at 310.4 million KES (2.9 million USD).
Motor insurance accounted for 22% of the cases detected by IRA.
Also, 19 insurance frauds were committed by insurance agents during the same year..
